The short version

Steward Casebook does not require an account and does not include analytics, advertising, automatic cloud sync, or an app network client. Case records, imported originals, transcripts, audio, and agreement indexes are processed and stored locally on the user’s device.

Information the app handles

The app handles information the user chooses to enter or import, such as names, workplace details, notes, recordings, documents, calendar invitations, evidence, deadlines, and agreement language. This can be sensitive. The publisher does not receive this material through the app.

On-device intelligence

When available, Apple Foundation Models, Vision, and on-device Speech help organize text, inspect images or scans, and transcribe voice capture on the device. Steward refuses server speech fallback. A deterministic local analysis path keeps the main workflow available when Apple Intelligence is unavailable.

Storage and protection

Local app files use iOS complete file protection. The optional app lock uses Face ID or the device passcode. The app covers case details when it is not active. No software can eliminate every risk: users should keep their device passcode private, install system updates, and follow their union’s information-handling rules.

Exports and sharing

Nothing is shared automatically. When the user intentionally exports or shares a report, handoff, recording, or document, iOS presents the chosen destination. After information leaves Steward, the destination, recipient, and any service used to deliver it control their copy. Steward offers disclosure-review and masking aids, but the user must inspect the finished file.

Encrypted handoff

An optional full-case handoff is encrypted on the device with AES-256-GCM and a fresh recovery key. The app instructs users to send the encrypted package and recovery key through separate channels. The receiving device does not retain the key.

Website data

This website does not contain analytics, ad pixels, lead forms, or marketing trackers. OpenAI hosts the website and may process ordinary request information needed to deliver and secure it. Website requests do not contain the case material stored in Steward.

Children

Steward Casebook is a professional workplace tool and is not directed to children.

User-controlled backups

You may create an AES-256-GCM encrypted backup containing cases and retained meeting audio. You choose where to store the file and recovery key. Steward cannot recover a lost key. Agreement Library originals and unfiled Inbox items are not included and must be preserved separately. A restore creates new case copies rather than replacing existing work.

Changes

If the product later adds remote services, accounts, analytics, or cloud sync, this policy and the App Store privacy answers must be updated before that behavior ships.
